Gambian Teachers for Gambian Students (GTGS)

Gambia Teachers for Gambian Students (GTGS) is a project of the Hope For Gambia Foundation, a charitable organization founded in 2015 by two young Gambian teachers, Basiru Bah and Lamin Saidy.

After teaching for years at different parts of The Gambia, they organized other teachers to join them by contributing 15% of their small salaries to help school children with the uniforms, stationery, and supplies they need to attend school - even lunch money if necessary.  You can supplement their efforts with your donation here:

Gambia Rising

Gambia Rising is a small, committed team of Gambians and Americans working to make it possible for deserving Gambian students to stay in school. Every dollar of new donations for scholarships goes directly to support the students; a Board member pays all overhead, and none of our team receive any pay for their work on behalf of those we serve.  Currently, we support students in more than 80 different Gambian schools from nursery school through Gambia College and the University of The Gambia.
